Gamle Oksøy - Kristiansand

MS «Oksøy» was built in 1962 at Brødrene Lothe, Haugesund, as a supply ship for the Norwegian Coastal Administration. The ship was used for maintenance of lighthouses, lights and marks along the coast, and was registered as a tanker with kerosene and gas on board the many lights in the charter.

Rationalization and conversion of the lighthouses to solar cell and battery operation eventually made the MS "Oksøy" redundant, and the vessel was taken out of operation in the autumn of 1996.
